The Standard Horizon VHF Radio GX6000 has a NMEA 2000 interface, which is plug-and-play. The integrated NMEA 2000 supports the functions of GPS, AIS, DSC, and all PGNs for navigation. Simply connect the NMEA 2000 to the current network in your system to complete it with complete VHF and DSC functionality. The huge front panel display of the Quantum GX6000 shows AIS target information (MMSI, Call Sign, Ship Name, BRG, DST, SOG, and COG). Having this knowledge enables you to communicate with an AIS ship directly using DSC, displays your vessel's position in relation to AIS targets, and warns you via the Closest Point of Approach (CPA) Alarm when an AIS ship might be approaching your location too closely.
The GX6000 is loaded with a 32-code voice scrambler on the inside for secret communications. All currently in use Standard Horizon 4 code scramblers are compatible with the 32 code scrambler. Your conversations are secure after choosing a channel to be scrambled and then choosing a shared code for the sending and receiving radios.
