Inmarsat IsatPhone Monthly Service Terms & Conditions

• Initial one-time Inmarsat activation fee of $50 applies to all service terms less than 12 Months.

• Inmarsat IsatPhone monthly service plans auto-renew month-to-month until cancelled or modified.

• Plans can be modified at any time, without penalty, after the initial 60-day minimum term.

• Included monthly airtime applies to the following call types: PSTN/landline/cellular, other IsatPhones, and Inmarsat voicemail. Additional usage types will be charged at the standard airtime rates displayed in the "Additional Cost" tab.

• Cancellations on month-to-month satellite subscriptions are billed to end of your current monthly bill cycle date with 30 day notice.

• Unused included Inmarsat IsatPhone satellite subscription airtime does not carry forward month-to-month, unless you have rollover selected as an option on your IsatPhone service plan.

• If SIM is suspended, a Subscription fee will continue to be charged.

• Inmarsat Fair Use Policy applies to all IsatPhone Monthly Service Plans.

Q:	Should I Choose Inmarsat IsatPhone Monthly or IsatPhone Prepaid Service?
A:	IsatPhone Monthly Airtime Service Plans offer the benefit of uninterrupted service, overage on minutes, pay as you go plans, rollover minutes and more. IsatPhone Prepaid Plans are more expensive, have a limited amount of minutes, no allowed overage (service will just cut out), no USA or local phone numbers. Minutes can be rolled over only if a new prepaid plan is purchased before the old SIM voucher expires. Monthly service is always recommended for IsatPhones.
Q:	What is the Cost for Calling Internationally from IsatPhone?
A:	Inmarsat IsatPhones do not have roaming costs. You are able to make calls anywhere in the world to any cellular or landline at the same flat rate. Average cost per minute on satellite phone networks is $0.99. But higher service plans of 100+ minutes monthly reduce this cost per minute to less than $0.65 per minute.
Q:	Do Satellite Phones Work On The Ocean?
A:	Yes, IsatPhones have excellent coverage on the ocean and anywhere else in the world you have a view of the sky. We sell antenna solutions that will make your satellite devices a more convenient solution for your vessel, indoors or underground.
Q:	Can My Inmarsat IsatPhone Be Hacked, Tracked or Spoofed?
A:	It is very difficult for even the most advanced government agency to trace and spy on an Inmarsat satellite phone. Eavesdropping on a satellite phone is virtually impossible since the signal travels vertically towards the sky. They would have to have an airplane full of equipment in line of sight between you and the satellite. However, they would still have to decrypt the signal which is encoded with up-to 256 Bit AES Encryption, the same as the DOD uses for their own communications. Compared to your cell phones where the signal travels horizontally towards the cellular towers and through this transmission your signal is able to be intercepted and there is no encryption.
Q:	Am I Charged For Incoming Calls and Text To My IsatPhone?
A:	No, direct dialed incoming calls and text are free on any Inmarsat service plan you choose. However, Inmarsat IsatPhones have international phone numbers so the caller will have to check with their landline or cellular provider on the cost of calling an IsatPhone phone. (870 country code)
Q:	Am I Able To Use My IsatPhone Inside?
A:	Inmarsat IsatPhone satellite phones require a clear line of sight with satellites. At anytime there are 1 to 2 geostationary satellites in range of your phone, depending on where you are in the world. these satellites are in a fixed orbit, once you connect you will stay connected as long as you do not move from the area you connected in. We offer Docking Stations and Antenna solutions if you do need to have satellite service inside your building, vessel, aircraft or mine.

Do I have assigned phone number? Can people call and text me?

The Isatphone Prepaid service will have an international Inmarsat phone number.
The country code is 870.
Calling into that number will be very expensive for the caller.
We always suggest that anyone trying to contact the satellite phone use the SMS/Text function.
The IsatPhone may receive SMS/Text messages from a cell phone, email or a web form, and the Isatphone is not charged to receive the message and has a very low rate for sending a message, so it is very cost effective.

How to turn the IsatPhone 2 On & Off

To turn on the IsatPhone press and hold down the red key until the screen lights up. The Inmarsat logo will appear followed by the main screen. To turn off, press and hold the red key until the screen light turns off.
If prompted to enter a PIN, enter the PIN code. The PIN is originally set by your service provider.
Stand outside and be at the best clear of the sky. No trees or buildings obstructing the view.
Searching satellite will appear on the screen. When your phone is connected to the satellite, the screen will display “Ready for service”.

To call a landline or cell phone: dial 00 > country code > area code > phone number

Answering a call on the IsatPhone 2

When your phone rings, press the green key. Remember, to receive a call, you must be connected to the satellite with the phone
antenna pointing upwards.

Using voicemail on an IsatPhone 2

If you have a new voicemail, the voicemail icon will appear in the status bar at the top of the main screen. You can press and hold the
“1” key for a few seconds. You will then automatically be connected to your voicemail account.
You can also dial the short code 570 and press the green key or the full international number 00 870 772 001 899 or +870 772 001
899 and press the green key. Follow the spoken instructions.

Creating and sending a text message on an IsatPhone 2

Select “Menu” > “Messaging” > “New Messaging” > “Text Message”. A blank screen will appear.
Compose your message. Enter the recipient’s full international number on the “To:” field. If the number is already stored in your
Contacts select “Options” > “Add Recipient” and select the name of on the list.
When you have finished adding recipients, select “Options” > “Send”

Creating a text message for sending to an email address

Select “Menu” > “Messaging” > “New Message” > “Email message”
Instead of displaying your name to the recipient, the message will display your details in the following format, From : your phone
number@message.inmarsat.com. - Example : 870776456960@message.inmarsat.com

Bluetooth

To activate Bluetooth connectivity select Menu > Settings > Bluetooth. Select Settings > Bluetooth and select On. The Bluetooth
icon indicator appears in the status bar.

Well, there was a little miss communication when I first contacted Apollo to set up my Sat Phone. They sent me the wrong sim card thinking I had a different phone. I have an Iridium Satellite phone.
