The NAL Iridium SHOUT TW Personnel Tracker is a global, two-way satellite messaging and personal tracking device with an IP67 rating. It makes use of Iridium's short burst data (SBD) service to offer GPS-based location information, two-way inbound and outbound status, text messaging, and emergency/alert messages.
The SHOUT tw is built with ultra-low power circuits that drain less than 35A while sleeping. It can send a position report every hour for up to two months thanks to an integrated 1.95 A-Hr rechargeable Li-Ion battery (about 1,600 reports). The SHOUT tw is a resistive high-resolution color touchscreen that allows you to send free-text, canned messages, or a combination of free-text and canned messages. The menu selections are shown as icons for convenient access, similar to a "smart" phone. The device can wake up from sleep on a regular basis to relay its position report to a command center. For immediate emergency/alert communications, a 911 button is employed. The data is stored in a standard or 256-bit AES encrypted format. To include Brevity codes, data can alternatively be provided in encrypted PECOS forms.
